In early 2022, Lesley Israel embarked on a new kind of endeavor; a serial interview series with an aim to inspire! It would be a four-part, online exclusive to be rolled out throughout the year beginning in April 2022. Each installment of the interview would cover different facets of Ms. Israel's career, beliefs and family life--and the series would be known as Work That Matters.
Now, a couple of months later, it has become a reality. This long-form, multimedia article serves not only as a celebration of a great woman, but especially as a source of inspiration for the younger generation just now embarking on a similar journey to that of Ms. Israel.
"I hope young women in particular can find something positive in my story that applies to their own lives," says Lesley. "I found a way to balance my work and family life in a way that many people cannot mange to do."
Here is an excerpt from the first installment of Lesley Israel's 2022 Interview Series, Work That Matters:

You’ve worked for several presidential campaigns. Is it really as exhausting as it looks?
Lesley Israel
[laughs] No, not really. I'm not doing it because it's a “job", I was doing it because I cared about it, and in each case, I was doing something that I really wanted to do. In many cases, I was doing jobs that I was invited [to do] and just inventing as we went along, because campaigns were changing in those days, mostly because communications were changing. So as we got into a world of internet, for instance, and more TV stuff, it was, yes, it's stressful, but I don't think it was exhausting. [pause] It mattered.
